Day two came and went at the 2008 Midwest Blast Tournament at Atkins Tennis Center. After the Illini had a slow start, losing all three doubles matches to Notre Dame, they came back firing, winning four of their six singles matches in the afternoon against Denver.

Redshirt sophomore Leigh Finnegan notched her second victory of the weekend, defeating Mallory Voelker 6-4, 6-0.

Freshman Chelcie Abajian also notched a victory, her first at home wearing the orange and blue. She is now 10-6 in the fall season, gaining much needed college experience moving into the spring.

The Illini continue their mock dual Sunday with singles against Wichita State starting at 11 a.m.
