Hey all. Kyle Betts here blogging from the greatest high school stadium in the land: Ryan Field. Today will be the regular season finale of The Daily Illini live blog and perhaps the last live blog for the 2008 season. Gasp.

Illinois (5-6, 3-4) is playing for their bowl-game life as they need the win today to become bowl eligible and hope that some committee will offer them an invitation. Northwestern (8-3, 4-3) is guaranteed a bowl spot and are looking to play the roll spoiler. Last season, the bowl-bound Illini defeated Northwestern in the final game and thus denying a the Wildcats a postseaon trip. Needless to say, there is a bit of a revenge factor involved.

If the Illini are going to walk away with a victory, the offense is going to need to take care of the ball. Turnovers were a killer last week against Ohio State, and as long as Illinois is able to avoid any dumb plays then I believe they have the athletes to make the Northwestern fans tear up behind their monocles and hide their ashamed faces in their top hats.
