After the No. 1 Illini shut out No. 2 Lindenwood on Friday, the Lions returned the favor on Saturday night by blanking the Illini 5-0, and earning a split in the weekend series.

Twelve penalties committed by the Illini led to four power-play goals for Lindenwood. Five different Lions accounted for the goals, with forward Travis Bokina leading the way with three points.

Illini goalie Mike Burda faced forty shots while Lindenwood goalie Robi Cavillari stopped all twenty-three shots he faced.

The Illini will try to get back on track next weekend at home against the Eastern Michigan Eagles, with Friday’s game starting at 7:30 p.m.
