Illini baseball beats Minnesota, tied for Big Ten lead

The Illinois baseball team defeated Minnesota, 15-10, on Friday night. The win vaults the Illini into a first-place tie with Ohio State at 7-3 in the conference.
The Gophers jumped out to an early 6-1 lead, but the Illini scored 14 runs from the fourth inning until the seventh to grab the win. Dominic Altobelli led the offensive attack for Illinois, hitting 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs.
Phil Haig got the win for the Illini, allowing 10 runs and 15 hits in 6 1/3 innings of work. Lee Zerrusen got the save by throwing 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
