By Adam Rosen, Summer Editor

The 6-foot-4 receiver from Moorpark College in California was originally a preferred walk-on at Texas A&M. The Oak Park, California native worked out last Wednesday at Memorial Stadium before earning a scholarship offer and making it official.

During his earlier high school years, Capka-Jones amassed over 2,000 yards receiving and 27 touchdowns before the pandemic hurt his recruitment. In two seasons at Moorpark College, he totaled 900 yards and 10 touchdowns, according to 247Sports.

Capka-Jones will provide length and size to an Illini offense looking to help their quarterback room find the success that Tommy DeVito had in 2022.

Capka-Jones joins a receiver room filled with returning starters like Isaiah Williams, Casey Washington and Pat Bryant.
