Buchanan’s comeback
Leading the charge is senior Jackson Buchanan. Buchanan is fresh off a strong performance where he claimed a victory with a stunning comeback that included 11 birdies. His determination and skill have made him a key player for the Illini.
Depth in numbers
Illinois does not only rely on its star players but also the entire roster. Sophomore Max Herendeen showcased his consistency with a brilliant final round at Fallen Oak, securing a tie for fourth place.
Similarly, freshman Trey Marrion had a career-best score, which tied him for ninth. Each player is eager to contribute to the team’s success, bringing their A-game to the final tournament of the fall.
The rest of the Illinois lineup includes sophomore Ethan Wilson, junior Ryan Voois and freshman Jake Birdwell, who will compete as an individual.
The Illini spirit shines bright
This is Illinois’ first time competing in this tournament. With the fall season on the line and confidence riding high, the Illini are prepped for an unforgettable weekend on the green.
