Illinois football has added to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitments of two prospects from Indianapolis — wide receiver Davion Chandler from Lawrence North High School and defensive lineman Isaiah White from Ben Davis High School. Both three-star recruits announced their decisions after official visits to the University in recent weeks.
Davion Chandler
Davion Chandler is a 6-foot, 170-pound wide receiver, who also plays cornerback for his high school team’s defense. Chandler chose Illinois over a competitive list of programs including Boston College, Kansas and West Virginia as well as Big Ten schools like Iowa, Michigan State and Purdue. Chandler is ranked as the no. 11 prospect in Indiana and the 120th-ranked wide receiver in the nation, according to 247Sports.
In his junior year, Chandler made a significant impact on the field, picking up 40 receptions for 779 yards and 13 touchdowns. Chandler had also planned official visits to Wisconsin and Indiana, but he opted to commit to Illinois early and forgo any additional college visits.

Isaiah White
Isaiah White, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive lineman, adds substantial strength to Illinois’ defensive front. White, who is ranked as the No. 18 prospect in Indiana and the 98th-ranked defensive lineman nationally by 247Sports, had an impressive junior season with 69 tackles and 7.5 sacks, contributing significantly to Ben Davis’s Class 6A state championship in 2023.
White chose Illinois over offers from Louisville, Boston College and Washington. He had already visited Louisville and had additional visits planned, but chose to commit to Illinois on June 9.
Notably, Illinois has also offered a scholarship to White’s brother, Isaac White, a running back who tallied 312 yards and three touchdowns as a junior. A familial connection has the opportunity to strengthen White’s performance for the Illini.
