Illinois is reportedly turning to a familiar face in junior Ethan Moczulski to compete for its vacant kicker role, according to 247Sports’ Jeremy Werner.
Moczulski spent the 2024 season with Illinois, where he drilled a program-record 59-yard field goal against Central Michigan in his first attempt of the season.
The junior transferred to Washington for the 2025 season, where he solely attempted kickoffs.
The Illini lost one of the nation’s best kickers in Moczulski’s former teammate, junior David Olano, to the transfer portal earlier this year. Moczulski will presumably compete with sophomore Lucas Osada, who has yet to attempt a kick with Illinois, for the role.
Moczulski is the second specialist the Illini have added this portal cycle, joining former Arkansas redshirt junior long snapper Zach Haber.
