Hockey team barely escapes win win
October 24, 2008
The Fighting Illini hockey team remains undefeated for at least one more night, escaping Artic Edge Ice Arena in Edmonton, Okla., with a 4-3 victory over the Central Oklahoma Bronchos.
Heading into the final period tied 1-1, the Bronchos netted two early goals to take a 3-1 advantage, only to watch as the Illini scored three goals in a six-minute span. All four goals by the Illini came on power plays, as the Bronchos committed 14 penalties in the game, six of which came in the final period.
