The Illinois men’s basketball team (16-6, 8-3) fell one spot to No. 20 in the latest Associated Press poll released Monday morning.

Illinois’ newest ranking follows the team’s loss at then-No. 18 Iowa Sunday, falling 72-65 and snapping the team’s seven-game winning streak in Iowa City, Iowa. Illinois is one of five Big Ten teams receiving top-25 nods including No. 9-ranked Maryland, who moved up from No. 15, No. 16 Michigan State, which fell from the No. 14 spot, No. 17-ranked Iowa, and No. 22-ranked Penn State, which moved up from No. 24.

The Illini are tied for first place in the Big Ten with the Michigan State Spartans.

Illinois will host No. 9 Maryland Friday at the State Farm Center at 7 p.m.
