Hi! I’m Helen Maurer, and I’m the Copy Chief for this year’s editorial board! I’m a senior majoring in accounting and minoring in history. I started with The Daily Illini in Fall 2023 as a copy editor before moving to the slotter position, then to Senior Copy Editor and now, finally, as Copy Chief. My favorite part about being Copy Chief is ensuring that The DI keeps up with its standards of remaining ethical and unbiased in our reporting to ensure our campus community is properly informed.
