One of the things you’re sometimes forced to give up as a journalist is celebrating or mourning the biggest stories of the year. For me, Illinois’ win over Ohio State was beyond thrilling, but I didn’t have much time to soak it in. Many other members of our staff and I spent most of the night calling police stations for information on the campus celebrations, posting updates on the paper’s Web site and making a few vindictive phone calls to friends at a certain other Big 10 university that the Illini stumbled against earlier this season.

This story is just the latest in the continued development of The Daily Illini’s online coverage. The sacrifice was worth it to see the number of people that read our coverage of campus (and the game) online that night.
