Fill out University refund request
Feb 23, 2009
For those of you waiting for President Obama’s economic stimulus plan to trickle down to your pocketbooks, did you know that you can receive your own mini stimulus package from the university? It’s true. As early as Feb. 23rd you can receive refunds for certain university fees. These include the Krannert Center Fee, the “Legacy” Fee, and the Study Abroad Scholarship Fee, among others. I encourage any undergrads disgusted with such frivolous tuition add-ons to fill out the refund request forms. However, the University doesn’t make the process easy. The fees are only refundable during one week windows at varying times throughout the semester.
You also have to show up in person at the Henry Administration building to make the request (check the UIUC Registrar website for more info). Although I delight in the fact that I am helping subsidize European trips abroad and dance performances, not everyone has the benefit of extraneous money to devote to such matters.
