Men’s tennis loses 6-1 to Ohio State
April 12, 2009
Both teams were undefeated in conference play heading into Sunday, but Ohio State broke Illinois’ nine match home winning streak with a 6-1 victory. The Buckeyes now are now in prime position to capture their fourth consecutive Big Ten Championship.
Ohio State got the ball rolling by capturing the doubles point, and they kept their momentum rolling through the singles. Illinois didn’t get a point until the match was already decided.
The only point for the Illini came from Dennis Nevolo’s upset of No. 18th-ranked Justin Kronauge.
