Champaign board and commission members will provide input to Champaign City Council’s goals Thursday before they are presented at the Champaign City Council meeting next week.
New council members will discuss their goals for the next two years, Peggy Wade, secretary to the mayor and city council said.
“Every other year or so new council members discuss goals they’d like to be met,” Wade said. “Some goals are three-year goals, some are five. The idea of this special meeting, though, is for board and commission members to give input to those goals before they are presented at the council meeting next week.”
About 30 members, including the mayor, are expected to attend the meeting Thursday, representing 14 different commissions and boards, like the Historic Preservation Commission, the Board of Fire & Police, the Champaign Public Library Board of Trustees and the Liquor Advisory Commission.
The meeting is open to the public and will take place 6 p.m. Thursday the Champaign Public Library, 200 W. Green in the Robeson Pavilion Room A & B.
