A groundbreaking ceremony for a new luxury apartment complex designed for Parkland students will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday. The complex, called the Parkland Point Apartments, is at the corner of Country Fair Drive and Bradley Avenue in Champaign.

Creg McDonald of the McDonald Group Real Estate Company announced in a press release that the project will be ready for occupancy by Fall 2012.

“It became very apparent in our research that the Parkland student is very underserved from a safety and amenity standpoint in their living conditions,” McDonald said in a press release.

The apartments will have a direct walkway to Parkland College and busroutes running to and from Parkland. The apartments will also be furnished with leather furniture, hardwood floors and upgraded appliance and security systems.”
