The 2011-12 All-Big Ten men’s basketball teams were announced Monday. Michigan State’s Draymond Green was named Player of the Year by both the Big Ten coaches and media panels, while Spartans head coach Tom Izzo was named the conference’s Coach of the Year by both as well.
Illinois had two mentions on both the coaches’ and media’s teams. Brandon Paul received Third-Team All Big Ten honors by the coaches and was named by the media as an honorable mention. Meyers Leonard was given an honorable mention by both the coaches and media. Sam Maniscalco was Illinois’ recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
