A situation with a barricaded gunman at 109 E. John St. has been cleared as of 6 a.m., according to Illini Alerts.
The first Illini Alert, sent at about 4 a.m., indicated there may have been a hostage involved, but a later alert sent about an hour later clarified that there was no hostage.
