Illinois State Police, assisted by Champaign Police, issued over 50 citations during two Operation Campus/Tap details conducted at campus bars on Oct. 20 and Nov. 3.
The detail conducted during the late evening hours of Oct. 20 resulted in 27 total citations.
Eight citations were issued at Kam’s, eight were issued at Red Lion, eight were issued at It’s Brother’s, two were issued at White Horse Inn and one was issued at Clybourne.
During the detail conducted on Nov. 3, 11 citations were issued at Red Lion, five were issued at White Horse Inn, five were issued at Clybourne, two were issued at It’s Brother’s and one was issued at Illini Inn.
The purpose of Operation Campus/Tap is to reduce and prevent underage drinking and sale of alcohol to minors while increasing police presence in the campus area.
