A resident of 401 S. Busey Ave. was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday evening at about 8:45 p.m.

The Urbana Police Department is investigating the armed robbery where an armed gunman hit the victim in the head from behind and robbed the victim at gunpoint. The University issued a public safety advisory about the incident at about 10:45 p.m.

According to the public safety advisory, the offender fled the scene headed southwest, and was described as a college-aged white male, wearing a black mask, a blue and white checkered jacket and blue jeans.
