The Illini women’s basketball team will try to maintain the momentum Saturday after its 95-82 victory over Wake Forest on Thursday.
Illinois will face Colorado, which will enter Assembly Hall sporting an impressive 5-0 record. The Buffaloes’ latest victory was a 68-59 win over then-undefeated Wyoming on Wednesday.
The Illini will have to slow down freshman forward Arielle Roberson, who leads Colorado in points and blocks per game with 17.2 and 1.0, respectively.
To give his players more rest, Illinois head coach Matt Bollant said he will begin practice at 4 p.m. on Friday instead of the regular morning practice. Bollant said he expects his team to be prepared come Saturday even with only one day in between games.
“We’ll get ready for Colorado,” Bollant said. “We’ll watch a lot of tape. Hopefully they’ll get a good night’s rest and go to class and then we’ll come ready to talk about Colorado and how we prepare for that.”

Bollant added that the Buffaloes exhibit an up-tempo style of play.
“They’re a good defensive team,” he said. “They’re physical, and they’ll get after you.”
