Update: The victim’s purse was found in the Coordinated Science Lab using cell phone tracking.
The cell phone tracking device gave the general area of the victim’s phone’s location and canines were used for article searches to locate the purse, Detective Sergeant Tom Geis said.
The offender has not been located.

The University Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred Saturday night in the 200 block of North Mathews Avenue.

At approximately 9:44 p.m., the offender was walking northbound when passing an individual riding a bicycle down the sidewalk. The offender grabbed the victim’s purse off her shoulder before running away in a northwesterly direction.
The offender is described as a black male in his mid-twenties with a medium to dark complexion and a small to medium build. He was described as being 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was also wearing a dark red or burnt orange sweatshirt with dark pants or jeans and a knit type hat with single red strands of braided material handing down on each side. The hat was flipped up above the offender’s forehead and showed a white interior.
