Champaign Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Sunday morning at the northeast corner of 4th and Chalmers Streets in Champaign, according to a public safety advisory.
At approximately 3:05 a.m., an individual was walking in the area when the offender, who displayed a small folding knife, approached the victim and asked him for his wallet. After the victim handed over the wallet, the offender left the area walking east on Chalmers Street.
The offender is described as a curly dark haired white female in her 40s, weighing 200 pounds, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a polka dot shirt and was carrying a black backpack. The offender is also described as having a growth or boil on her neck and may be homeless.
