The Urbana City Council will discuss three ordinances to revise its annual budget ordinance and possible revisions to the sewer reimbursement program at its regular meeting Monday.
Council members will look to combine and reallocate property acquisition demolition funds and certain unprogrammed funds toward a street lighting project in King Park and the construction of a multiuse path connecting Lanore Drive, Fairlawn Drive and Adams Street.
Council members will also discuss amending the annual budget to allow for adequate funding for the Urbana Town Homes demolition project, which would add $250,000 to the demolition budget. The proposal includes reducing the King Park improvement project by $130,000 and the Matthews Avenue improvement project by $120,000, according to a city memo.
Included in Monday’s discussion is a $49,860 FEMA grant for new fire hoses and nozzles.
After several weeks of concern from Ellis Subdivision residents about their sewer system, the city agreed to hold a presentation on the current reimbursement program.
