Illinois State Police, assisted by Champaign Police, issued more than 30 citations during an Operation Campus/Tap detail conducted at campus bars during the late evening hours of Feb. 1.

During the detail, nine citations were issued at both Red Lion and The Clyborne, seven citations were issued at White Horse Inn, three citations were issued at Illini Inn, two citations were issued at It’s Brothers and one citation was issued at Kam’s. An additional citation was issued in the campus area streets.

The purpose of Operation Campus/Tap is to reduce and prevent underage drinking and sale of alcohol to minors while increasing police presence in the campus area.
