Illinois State Police, assisted by Champaign Police, issued 26 citations during an Operation Campus/Tap detail conducted at campus bars during the late evening hours of Feb. 16.

During the detail, 10 citations were issued at Red Lion, seven citations were issued at Joe’s Brewery, four citations were issued at White Horse, two citations were issued at both The Clyborne and It’s Brothers and one citation was issued at Kam’s.

The purpose of Operation Campus/Tap is to reduce and prevent underage drinking and sale of alcohol to minors while increasing police presence in the campus area.
