Storm sewer repairs will require several lanes of traffic to be closed temporarily on Thursday in Champaign, according to a press release.

Southbound traffic on Neil Street will be merged into a single lane between Green and Healey Streets. Southbound traffic on Neil Street will also be restricted from turning west onto Green Street. Additionally, traffic moving westbound on Green Street between Neil and Randolph Streets will also be confined to a single lane through the work zone. A westbound lane on University Avenue at Randolph Street will also be closed to complete the repairs.

The lane closures are due to storm sewer repairs which will be completed by SAK Construction between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday.

The City of Champaign Public Works Department encourages the public to plan alternate routes.
