The Champaign Police Department is looking for an armed robbery suspect who entered the Champaign County Schools Employees Credit Union, 1201 S. Mattis Ave., and demanded money Friday morning.
According to a press release, police were first notified of the suspect at 10:52 a.m. The suspect had entered the credit union with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen heading westbound from the north side of the credit union.
Three employees were inside the bank at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-thirties, 5-foot-5 and weighing 170 to 175 pounds. He was wearing a black stocking cap or do-rag, a black cloth covering his neck, black jacket, black jeans and black shoes. He was also carrying a black messenger with a strap.
