More than 700 workers represented by the Service Employees International Union Local 73 will vote Friday, Saturday and Sunday on whether to accept the University’s latest offer, according to a press release.
SEIU has been in negotiations with the University since its contract expired in July. More than 90 percent of the union members voted to authorize a strike in January. A strike notice was issued on Feb. 28.
If a majority of SEIU members vote to not accept the proposal, a three-day strike will begin at midnight on March 11. If a majority votes to accept the proposal, the strike will be called off.
Results of the vote will be announced on Sunday.
