An Operation Campus Tap detail was conducted by the Illinois State Police on Saturday, April 13.

A total of 50 citations were distributed by the ISP and Champaign police at the time. Of the 50 citations, 16 were distributed at Joe’s Brewery, 12 at It’s Brothers Bar and Grill, seven at Red Lion, six at Clybourne, four at White Horse, three at Fire Haus and two around campus area streets.

The citations were given for Possession/Purchase of alcohol by a minor, Sale/Delivery to a minor and Unlawful Use of Identification.

The goal of Operation Campus Tap is to reduce underage drinking in Illinois by increasing police presence in the campus area and enforcing action in cases of illegal consumption and possession of alcohol or drugs by minors, impaired driving and the sale of alcohol to minors.
