The Champaign Police Department is investigating a late night shooting that occurred at the Red Roof Inn, 212 West Anthony Drive.

Officers arrived at the scene around 12:45 a.m. According to police, the victim was lying on the ground in the parking lot in need of medical attention. The victim told the police that while he was meeting with two males in their hotel room, both men exposed a gun.

The victim reported that he ran from the hotel room and was shot by one of the suspects. Both suspects then left the area in a car, according to a press release from the Champaign Police Department.

The Champaign Police Department has not released any information regarding the description of either suspect.

The victim was brought to Carle Hospital for treatment of a single, gunshot wound.
