JSM Development has announced plans to open Ragstock, a clothing retailer, at 607 S. Wright Street where Follett’s Bookstore is currently located, according to a press release.

Ragstock owns 25 locations throughout the Midwest and has stores in Ann Arbor, Mich., Madison, Wis. and Iowa City, Iowa. Ragstock will be located in the basement of the property and will use about 6,300 square feet, according to a press release.

“We have been looking for a location for a Ragstock store in Champaign for the last five years,” president of Ragstock Mike Finn said in a press release.

Ragstock is the newest company JSM has brought to Champaign. Earlier this year, JSM brought Wendy’s to campustown, and in 2008 it brought Urban Outfitters.

“JSM has been focused on diversifying the retail base in campustown,” said Jill Guth, JSM’s director of commercial leasing and marketing, in a press release. “Ragstock is another step in that direction.”

Ragstock is expected to open in early August.
