Facilities named its new executive director Tuesday afternoon.
Allan M. Stratman was appointed to the position. This decision awaits clearance by the University’s Board of Trustees, which is expected to approve the move at its July meeting. Stratman is scheduled to start Sept. 3.
With the hire, the University announced that the term “services” will be dropped from the “Facilities and Services” title to articulate transitions in the operations. So the unit will no longer be responsible for overseeing the University’s printing and parking services.
Stratman comes to the University after having been a captain in the U.S. Navy and an executive officer of the Navy Facilities Engineering Command Southwest. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s in geotechnical engineering.
Stratman will replace Jack Dempsey, who has led Facilities and Services since 1999.
