Champaign Police officers responded to a report of shots fired around 4 a.m. in the 1000 block of Northwood Street.
The incident consisted of two males who had seen each other in the 1000 block of Northwood Street, and had engaged in a previous altercation. One of the males withdrew a gun and fired shots at the other male. Neither of the males were injured. The shooter fled the scene, heading northbound on McKinley Avenue and has not been located at this time.
The offender has been described as a black male roughly 6-foot-1 and weighing 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants and a red hat.
This dispute does not appear to be connected to recent incidents throughout Champaign involving firearms according to the Champaign Police Department.
