The Senate Executive Committee is holding a meeting Monday in the English building to discuss bylaw revision and hear remarks from Chancellor Phyllis Wise.
Roy Campbell, SEC chairman, said some of the more important issues that will be discussed at this meeting include a proposal that will allow the University Senates Conference to create amendments to the Board of Trustee’s Statutes, which are governing documents for the guidance of University staff. These amendments would later be sent to the Senates.
According to the proposal, this law will allow for greater freedom and room for suggestions. The report contains a reference to the USC discussion about open access and the state law.
Chancellor Wise will offer remarks toward the beginning of the meeting as well.
“Personally, I am interested by whether Chancellor Wise will be saying anything about her goals for the year,” Campbell said.
