Police blotter for Sept. 5, 2014

Champaign

— Burglary was reported in the 800 block of North Prospect Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the report, the offender entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole two credit cards and a driver’s license.

— A 27-year-old male was arrested on the charge of theft at County Market, 331 E. Stoughton St., around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the suspect concealed items in his clothes and left the store without paying.

— A 49-year-old male was arrested on the charge of battery in the 1500 block of N. Willis Ave. around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the suspect armed himself with a knife during an argument with the victim. The victim was scratched with the knife during the altercation.

University

— Nine University students were given notices to appear in court to face charges of trespassing on state-supported land at Memorial Stadium, 1402 S. First St., at 1 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the students told police they entered the stadium while they were exploring campus.

— Theft was reported at the Armory, 505 E. Armory Ave., at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the report, a student reported that his bike was stolen while locked to a rack at the Armory. The bike has an estimated value of $550.

Urbana

— Theft was reported in the 1700 block of East Florida Avenue around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the bike was stolen outside of an apartment building.

— Criminal damage to property was reported in the 300 block of East George Huff Drive around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the offender shot a BB gun at a security light hung on a power pole. The BB went through the cover and destroyed the light bulb.
