The Illinois State Police released the results of its Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) covert detail on Sept. 19.

The purpose of the ACE program is to reduce and deter underage drinking, according to the press release from the Illinois State Police. It also hopes to increase police presence in the campus area.

A total of 28 citations were made at four bars that were checked. Nine citations were issued at KAM’s, eight at Red Lion, three at The Clybourne and eight at It’s Brothers. The majority of the citations were issued for minor possession or purchase of alcohol.

Those who are found in possession of illegal IDs are at risk of having their driver’s license suspended or revoked by the Illinois Secretary of State. According to the press release, suspensions can last up to one year or longer.
