Man hospitalized in Champaign shooting

A 23-year-old male was hospitalized for a gunshot wound after reports of multiple shots fired on the 500 block of Alabama Avenue in Champaign.

Officers found the man while responding to a report of multiple shots fired at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. They quickly transported him to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, according to a release from the Champaign Police Department.

The man’s condition is unknown.

Police from both the patrol and investigation divisions processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Detectives are investigating and following leads to find suspects.
