The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District will begin upgrading their bus servers at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

During this time, the servers will be unavailable on every platform, including the MTD’s website, apps and mobile site, according to a press release.

It is expected to take several hours to complete the upgrade. Customers are encouraged to look up the route maps and timetables online in advance. Free maps and schedules are also available at the Illini Terminal and at the Operations and Administration Building, 1101 E. University Ave.

The upgrade will improve the system’s reliability and speed, and will replace over a dozen servers with three new units built to reduce energy consumption, according to the release.

The system will resume as soon as the server upgrade is completed on Wednesday.
