Tatyanna McFadden breaks world record

Wheelchair athlete and Illinois alum Tatyanna McFadden broke a 5k record on Tuesday.

She finished the Cedartown Wheelchair 5k with a time of 11:11.57, beating her own previous world record of 11:19.

McFadden is preparing for the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta that will take place on July 4th.

Mcfadden is one of the top wheelchair racers in the world, known for winning a grand slam — Boston, New York, London and Chicago — in Marathons for two years.
