The Daily Illini is looking to hire several people across every department at our award-winning newspaper.

Positions we want to fill: Reporters, opinions columnists, copy editors, designers, photographers, videographers, on-air reporters,  social media coordinators, web content managers and web developers.

When you can meet us: Tuesday, Sept. 1 and Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.

We are looking for a diverse range of people with varied backgrounds, experiences and majors: We’re not just looking for students studying journalism. Many of the people who work in the newsroom come from English, linguistics, art, design, engineering, political science, human development and family studies, advertising, chemistry, law and more. You can work in any department, regardless of your major.

Previous experience is not required, but you must be dedicated to learning the craft and be willing to better your technique.

We look for people who are passionate and have a positive outlook on life. Applicants who love to experiment with new ideas, strive to better their work and skills, and know how to have fun are a perfect fit at The Daily Illini.

Come to an Info Night to learn more about the departments you are interested in or those you want to know more about. You will be able to speak with some of our editors and hear exactly what they are looking for in their sections.
