Urbana

Obstruction of Identification was reported on the 1800 block of Cottage Grove Avenue at around 12:20 a.m. on Monday. According to the report, both of the offenders lied about their identities during a criminal investigation. The investigating officers later learned of the offenders’ true identities, at that both had valid warrants.

An arrest was made on the 2000 block of Philo Road at around 5:35 a.m. on Monday, on the charge of a warrant in-state. According to the report, investigators found two valid in-state warrants, while searching the arrestee for a reason unknown. 

University

An arrest was made in the 2000 block of West Bradley Avenue, Champaign, at around 12:03 p.m. on Thursday, on two Champaign County warrants for the failure to appear at court. Police arrived at the arrestee’s apartment after receiving a warrant on suspected drug activity. 

Deceptive practices were reported by a student on campus at around 6 p.m. on Thursday. The student received a phone call in which the other person accused the student of smuggling cocaine. The caller then claimed the student needed to buy them a gift card over the matter. The student then provided the number of a $458 gift card to the caller.
