Best restaurant to take your parents: Black Dog

By Drew Friberg, Sports Editor

The age old question of where to go to lunch or dinner resurfaces each time your parents come to town. With an excess of restaurants located both on and off campus, how is one supposed to choose?

Whether it’s Dads weekend, Moms weekend or a completely different occasion, Black Dog Smoke & Ale House is the perfect place to bring your parents for a meal.

Specializing in smokehouse barbecue-style food, the restaurant also has locally manufactured beer, along with a wide selection of other liquors. Black Dog Smoke & Ale House has everything from chicken to ribs, and the restaurant also has wide assortment of sauces.

“It’s true (that it is a great place to take your parents),” co-manager Nicole Cravens said. “It makes us happy that people think of us when their family is in town and they want to come see us.”

Located in Champaign on the corner of Main and Chestnut streets and tucked away in a cozy corner near cool shops and within walking distance of the Amtrak station, Black Dog Smoke & Ale House is the answer to the age old question.
