The Courier Café in Urbana is a local classic. The restaurant opened in 1980 and is housed in the oldest building in Urbana. Formerly a newspaper office for the Courier Newspaper, much of the café’s charm can be attributed to the old-school newspaper equipment that is still on display to customers in glass cases at the front.
With the large menu and friendly waitstaff, it’s the perfect place to take your mother to brunch on any given morning. The menu is filled with traditional breakfast foods such as a corned beef hash, pancakes and the Courier Breakfast, which comes with two eggs, a choice of sausage, ham or bacon, hashbrowns and a side of toast.
