Earlier today, actors Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid announced the nominees for the 96th Academy Awards, which not only celebrates the art of filmmaking but acknowledges the very best of film each year.
Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” leads the nominations with a total of 13 including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things” and Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” are right behind with 11 and 10 nominations, respectively.
Several actors received their first-ever nominations, including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt and Jeffrey Wright.
The award show will be held on March 10 at 7 p.m. ET with the pre-show beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET live from the Dolby Theatre. The event will be hosted by late-night talk host Jimmy Kimmel, marking his fourth time hosting the event.
