Singer and actor Naomi Scott took the Grove stage, delivering mellow and grooving tunes for the third day of Lollapalooza. Scott’s set was highly anticipated on social media, fueled when she posted a sneak peek of her set list.
“Bloody hell, Lollapalooza!” Scott shouted. “I thought I was gonna have like five people.”
The U.K.-born performer drew in quite the crowd, especially for her limited discography. Many audience members may know her from “Smile 2,” “Lemonade Mouth,” “Aladdin” or “Charlie’s Angels.” Her career launched after her performance as Mo in “Lemonade Mouth” — a start that she paid tribute to during her set by playing “She’s So Gone.”
However, if fans were looking for the original version of the Disney Channel hit, they would still be searching. Scott mellowed out the originally angsty song — allowing it to flow with the rest of her set better, but taking away the bite that made the tune so addictive in the first place.
Despite this difference, the crowd was still singing along to every word, albeit sometimes singing ahead of Scott after being used to the original fast tempo.

“I was not expecting you to sing along to that song,” Scott said, and was met with enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
Unfortunately for Scott, large numbers of the audience could be seen streaming out of the Grove after this performance. Still, a sizable crowd remained to hear the rest Scott had to offer.
Sticking with her relaxed, almost sultry sound, Scott’s performance featured her gliding vocals and funky instrumentation. Scott performed her 2025 single, “Rhythm,” which took her delicate vocals and placed them over a rich backdrop of instruments.
Another standout moment was during “Sweetened,” when Scott’s vocals took a backseat and she allowed her guitarist to take over. The energizing guitar solo created a thundering of cheers from the audience and provided a unique sound from the rest of her performance.
Although Scott’s talent was evident throughout the set, there was an obvious disconnect between her and the audience, part of which could be credited to poor vocal clarity through the speakers. One audience member noted that they needed subtitles to know what she was singing about.
However, these challenges did not prevent Scott from putting on a show that showcases her growth both musically and personally.
Scott is currently working on a new album, but no further information regarding release date, title or genre is available at this time.
