Global superstar and BLACKPINK member LISA has released the fourth single from her upcoming album, “Alter Ego.” “Born Again” is a disco-inspired pop song that features energetic verses from Doja Cat and RAYE.
Released on Thursday alongside its music video, “Born Again” follows previous singles “Rockstar,” Rosalía collaboration “New Woman” and dance-pop track “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me).” Of the four songs, “Born Again” is the clear highlight.
LISA opens with the booming chorus, “If you tried just a little more times/ I would’ve made you a believer,” telling off an ex-lover on what they’re missing out on. The song’s groovy production kicks in during the first verse, making the track perfect for a club or dance floor setting.

RAYE chimes in during the second chorus, asserting her vocal prowess and adding to the song’s undeniable catchiness. Her powerful voice and old Hollywood glamour pair perfectly with the retro-influenced track. LISA’s vocal improvement shines as she seamlessly keeps up with RAYE’s singing ability.
Doja Cat’s verse injects her signature personality and playfulness.
“Non-believer/ You’ve bitten from the fruit but can’t give back,” Doja Cat airily sings before delivering a rap verse that satisfyingly complements the track’s bass line.
All three artists bring not only their artistries to the single but combine them into a fusion that brings out the best of what they have to offer.
With RAYE’s bridge building up to the final chorus, the song’s finale ramps up the energy for the rest of its runtime. Despite the recent rise of two-minute songs, “Born Again” runs for nearly four minutes, giving it ample time to flourish into a fully formed track.
“Born Again” is a triumphant disco-pop single that utilizes its star power and length to deliver a strong collaboration between three unique, internationally famous musicians.
