Champaign County Clerk Mark Shelden is holding the final canvass, in which votes are counted, from the April 7 elections.

The canvass is being held tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.

“Absentee Ballots that were postmarked by April 6, 2009, as well as accepted Provisional Ballots will be counted and added to the ballot totals announced on Election Day,” Shelden said in a press release. “There are enough outstanding ballots to change the outcome in one race.”

The race in question is the Unit 4 School Board race in which two candidates are separated by three votes. These two candidates, Stig Lanesskog and Lynn Stuckey, are vying for the final slot on the Board.
