City council rejects re-zoning plans for lot in Historic East Urbana

The Urbana City Council unanimously passed an ordinance Monday night denying the re-zoning of a 0.24 acre parcel located at 708 South Vine Street in Urbana, Ill. Mojo Properties, LLC, petitioned to re-zone this vacant lot in Historic East Urbana from an R-3 (single or duplex-family residential) to an R-4 (multiple family residential).

Wayne Williams, a 2008 University of Illinois graduate is now a candidate for Champaign Assessor. It is the assessor’s job to assess properties to determine how much they are worth.
