Champaign

A 21-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence and driving without a front license plate at the 300 block of East Green Street early Friday morning.

A 25-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and resisting an officer at the 1200 block of Paula Drive Monday night.

According to a police report, the officer approached the suspect in response to a noise complaint. The suspect then attempted to run, but was apprehended and found with possession of cocaine.

A 76-year-old man reported a theft at the 600 block of West Church Street Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, the victim was expecting company, so he left his front door open while his wallet was lying on a table by the door. An unknown suspect entered the residence and took the wallet, cash and four identification items. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

A 36-year-old Rantoul, Ill., man was arrested for disorderly conduct at the 100 block of South Duncan Road late Monday afternoon.

According to a police report, the suspect was fired from his job and made threats to other employees.

An 18-year-old man was found trespassing at a residence on Bradley Avenue early Monday morning.

According to a police report, the 37-year-old victim woke up and found the male suspect in her daughter’s bedroom, but the suspect escaped the house. No arrests were made at the time of the report.

A 64-year-old man reported theft and forgery at the 900 block of North Randolph Street Monday morning.

According to a police report, an unknown suspect stole a box of checks from the victim’s mailbox in late October. The suspect has since forged 35 checks in the Champaign area. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Urbana

A retail theft occurred at Mobil Super Pantry, 2002 N. Lincoln Ave. Tuesday afternoon.

According to a police report, the offender pumped 18 gallons of gasoline and then left, going Westbound on I-74, without paying for gas. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

A 21-year-old woman reported a burglary at the 1600 block of Melrose Park Court Tuesday afternoon.

According to a police report, someone entered the victim’s locked room while she was on spring break and stole multiple items including two designer purses, clothing and a DVD. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

A 44-year-old homeless man was arrested for theft at the 100 block of East Main Street Tuesday afternoon.

According to a police report, a cab driver drove the suspect from St. Louis, Mo. to Urbana after the suspect promised payment upon their arrival. After arriving in Urbana, the suspect was then unable to pay the fee.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of cannabis at the 1100 block of Austin Drive Tuesday evening.

According to a police report, the police arrived at the scene after a phone call reporting that the suspect was selling stolen DVD players. The stolen property was recovered and the suspect was found with possession of cannabis.
